To mark our launch in the UK the day before the official start of the TG Birthday weekend, we at The Fetishistas held a little event of our own called ForePlay in Shoreditch.
We trailed it as a ‘pre-party’ and TG’s Allen and Charlotte came along to join us, which made it feel like we hadn’t been too presumptuous. We shared our billing with Kim from Club RUB, who was combining her annual free ‘thankyou’ party for RUB regulars with a celebration of her new website Hoodlovers.com.
The event was promoted by Cate Fetishista through MySpace so successfully that we had a full house of club scene regulars, London fetish industry stalwarts and glamorous international visitors over in London for the TG weekend.
Our guest of honour was undoubtedly the legendary Fakir Musafar, who arrived in high spirits with his partner Cléo Dubois and their Modern Primitive retinue from San Francisco after making the final preparations for their Body Probe performance the following night.
Among other notable overseas visitors were Los Angeles fetish and bondage queen Anastasia Pierce (also performing at the TG weekend) and an entourage comprising partner Liam and Swiss über-pervs SadEast and FrankFrancois.
Meanwhile, London scene veterans such as photographer Peter Ashworth and ex-Skin Two staffer Michelle Olley and Sarah Grimstone (the artist formerly known as Face Party’s Grim Rita) rubbed shoulders with Atsuko Kudo, Libidex’s Simon Rose and Julian Latorre, and hot new latex designed Onna, who proved eminently suited to modelling her own creations.
Models and performers including Harlot Rouge, Jamila Davis and Mistress Amrita provided more latex style, while other pervs took advantage of the relaxed dresscode and treated the evening as the prime networking opportunity it surely was.
Quite a few people turned up in hoods to mark the fact that this event was also to celebrate the launch of Kim’s Hoodlovers.com website, and among the exotically disguised perverati were Nicky and Gary, promoters of London’s hottest new entertainment evening with a difference, Lucha Britannia, which has brought Mexican Wrestling to these shores.
A steady stream of revellers was shunted into the Gothic Image studio to be recorded for posterity, many of them persuaded to don colourful hoods from the huge selection Kim had brought along for the occasion. Gothic himself impressed everyone by shooting ‘straight to laptop’ and having his images instantly on display for all to see. Memory cards are sooo last week, don’tcha know!
