New events, new fetish fair exhibitors and a new service for shoppers have been added since our original preview of Fetish Whitsun in Berlin was published in early April.
Berlin Fetish Weekend, the group behind the locally-organised events, has added two new evening attractions, both at Berlin’s well known Insomnia venue.
Angel in Bondage is Insomnia’s new “gotherotic” party on Friday May 25, promising a “special night of dark sounds” when resident DJ Elliot Spencer spins Gothic, Dark Wave, Industrial, Electro and Oldschool.
And on Sunday 27, Insomnia flexes its swinger credentials with The Insomnia Hot Sunday Orgy. “Only people who intend on getting active sexually should come to this event; not necessarily with others, but certainly with themselves,” says the club. Single men will pay €75 for the latter privilege.
Of rather more interest to visiting fetishists may be the Shopping Shuttle, a free shuttle bus service organised by BFW for Saturday 25 daytime.
Two services, one running clockwise and the other running anticlockwise, will connect eight of the Berlin fetish stores/labels, the German Fetish Fair and the Fetish Courtyard Berlin market between late morning and early evening on Saturday.
Buses will depart hourly from 11am to 7pm in both directions, with both routes starting and finishing at Savage-Wear’s Savage-Store at Grünberger Straße 16.
The anti-clockwise route makes stops at Blackstyle, Tabea Design, Schwartze Reiter/Trés Bonjour, Hautnah, McHurt, German Fetish Fair and Fetish Courtyard Berlin before returning to Savage-Store.
The clockwise route makes the same stops in reverse order. There are intervals of between five and 15 minutes between stops and if you were to stay on the bus, the entire round-trip would take you one hour 50 minutes.
More details of the two new BFW events and a full timetable for Saturday’s shuttle bus service can be found on the Berlin Fetish Weekend
website (see link in panel on right).
On the German Fetish Ball side of the partnership, the GFB has confirmed to us that there is just one cocktail party kicking off the whole weekend, and it’s the one we listed in our original preview: The Seven Sins of Fetish, which takes place from 7pm on Friday 25 at the Red Backstage.
Confusion had arisen because the GFB’s own website continued to list a cocktail party at 9pm, “venue tba soon”, for some weeks after confirmed details of the cocktail party were published on the BFW site and The Fetishistas. The correction has now finally been added to the GFB site.
Roughly a dozen new names have been added since the first GFF exhibitor list was published, with a possible two or three more still to sign up
The GFB organisers have now also updated the exhibitor list for the German Fetish Fair and BDSM Convention, being held at Umspannwerk Kreuzberg on Saturday-Sunday May 26-27.
Roughly a dozen new names have been added to the original exhibitor list published by the GFB in late March, with the possibility of a further two or three last-minute arrivals signing up to fill the venue’s few remaining square metres of floorspace.
The latest entrants are: Caging Berlin, Diva For One Day, Fetish Foto by Peter Felix Kurtz, Heinrich von Schimmer, JRM, Peter Domenie, Sex Leather, Steel Commands, Terese Art, Wieglas and Xrubber.
The full list of GFF exhibitors, correct at May 14, can be found in the German Fetish Fair panel, below right.
Last but not least, Martin Pelzer — whose FetishGuerilla organisation was the Berlin partner of earlier German Fetish Ball weekends — has now found a nice venue close to Matrix (where the Ball itself is held) for the GFB’s official afterparty.
Called FetishGuerilla GFB Afterhour, the party will take place on Monday 28 from 3am at Glühlampe, the oldest bar in Friedrichshain.
The venue, which has a DJ booth and small dancefloor, will host DJs Michael Placke (Exquisite Berlin), Hedo (KitKatClub) and Pierre Deutschmann (K:lender Records), with performances by Astarte Puresinz of Leipzig, Bobby Blowjob and possibly others.
In the fine tradition of previous FetishGuerilla parties, admission will cost a wallet-friendly €10.
As the promised Fetish Whitsun in Berlin joint website for this year’s GFB-BFW collaboration has not materialised (there’s just an “under construction” holding page at www.fetish-whitsun.com), there is unfortunately no “one-stop shop” where you can go for information and ticket purchasing for all this year’s events.
The BFW’s website is probably the single most complete source for basic participant and schedule information, as it does set out to list all of the weekend’s events that it, its partners, the GFB and its partners are hosting between them.
However, to buy tickets for the events organised by GFB promoters Xklusiv, you will need to visit the GFB website. The GFB site also contains lots of information about all the official GFB events, such as details of participants in the Ball shows and the German Fetish Fair.
For those still needing to sort out accommodation, the same site has a very useful page (under the Infos tab) listing hotels for all tastes and budgets near Matrix, the venue for the Ball.
In the sidebars on the right we have updated the combined schedule we first published on April 2, and we have also added a complete list of German Fetish Fair exhibitors, correct at press time, along with links to the main sites where you can get more info and buy tickets. See you there!
Without the promised Fetish Whitsun website, there is unfortunately no ‘one-stop shop’ where you can go for all Berlin info and ticket sales
